Greater Mt. Nebo A.M.E. Church Inclement Weather Policy

Every attempt will be made to hold our scheduled Sunday morning worship service. In case of inclement weather please take note of the Greater Mt. Nebo A.M.E. Church inclement weather policy and procedure.

Greater Mt. Nebo has engaged the services of a local snow removal company to pre-treat and service our campus in the case of inclement weather. We do, however, encourage our Church Family and Friends to use their own best judgement whenever there is a prediction of inclement weather or the start of winter precipitation.

Whenever inclement weather occurs on Saturday evening into early Sunday morning, a decision about our Sunday morning worship service and church school will be made by 7:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. If the decision is made to cancel these events due to existing weather or road conditions, that information will be posted on the church website and social media outlets. Ministry Leaders will also receive this information by email and/or text message to share with other ministry members and volunteers.

Closing information is also available on the Fox 5, ABC 7 and News Channels 8. However, sometimes that information is delayed, due to the large number of churches attempting to report their closings.

The same process is used for closing decisions during the week and Saturday mornings, although the time schedule obviously varies depending upon the situation and schedule of activities. It is best to contact the church or visit the church’s website for the most updated information when we experiencing inclement weather in our immediate area.

Attempts will be made to hold a “worship service” via conference call. Details will be communicated via a special Message From The Mount.
